Povidone

1] Description:  White or creamy white powder, available in several different grades.  

Soluble in water and all pharmaceutically acceptable solvents

2] Applications: 

Wet granulation tablet binder Plasdone K-29/32, Plasdone K-90/D/M*

*D = densified form, easier to disperse in water, or can be used dry

*M = finely milled for better dispersion in a powder blend

stronger binding efficiency, higher viscosity compared to K 29/32

Direct compression tablet binder Plasdone K-29/32 -  low viscosity
Sustained Release Polymer Plasdone K-90 D/M 
Parenterals and Ophthalmics Plasdone C-15 and Plasdone C-30, pyrogen-free grades

demulcent lubricant 

Liquids/suspensions viscosity modifier, crystal growth inhibitor

drug solubilizer by complexation 

protective colloid/stabilizer
