Microcrystalline Cellulose
1] Description: Purified, partially depolymerized alpha
cellulose derived from purified specialty grades of wood pulp. A white,
odorless, tasteless, free flowing powder. Insoluble in water, dilute acids,
and most organic solvents. Practically insoluble in sodium hydroxide. There
are various grades which differ in bulk density, particle size and moisture
content.

Applications:
Direct
compression Use grade 12, 102, 200, 302, or 112
Grade 12
has a larger particle size that grade 102, and better flow properties
Grade 200
has the largest particle size and better flow
Grade 302
has the same particle size as 102 but higher bulk density and better flow
Grade 112
has a lower moisture content than grade 102
Wet
granulation Use grade 101 or 301
Grade 301
has the same particle size as 101, but higher bulk density and better flow
Slugging
or roller
Compaction
Use grade 102, 302, or 112
Encapsulation
Use grade 102, 302, or 112
Spheronization
Use grade 101, or 301
