SHELLAC

1] Description:  Shellac-based coating materials.  
Trade Name Description
EmCoat 120 N Clear, amber, stable aqueous Shellac Solution (20% solids), based on dewaxed and decolorized Shellac refined in a bleaching process.
Marcoat 125 Clear, slightly amber, stable aqueous Shellac Solution (25% solids), based on dewaxed and decolorized Orange Shellac refined in a solvent extraction process.
Note: Both Emcoat 120N and Marcoat 125 can be used as supplied or diluted with demineralized water to the desired concentration. Compatible with additives, fillers, pigments, plasticizers and other resins or polymers. Emcoat 120N can be prepared as an alcoholic solution (keep in mind flashpoint and flammability).

Films have high gloss, hard surface and excellent barrier properties. 

2] Applications: 

Enteric Coatings use Marcoat 125 or Emcoat 120N
Taste/Odor Masking use Marcoat 125 or Emcoat 120N
