(Low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose)
1] Description: A
low-substituted hydroxypropyl ether of cellulose.
Solubility: Completely insoluble in water, and alcohol. Dissolves in
10% NaOh solution to give a viscous solution. Swells rapidly in water.

compressed tablets.
Types with a larger average
particle size and higher hydroxypropyl content show higher degree
of swelling. |
| Binder |
Direct compression.
LH-22 provides greater binding while retaining disintegration
properties. Binder levels are in the 25% range.
LH-11 is useful to prevent capping. |
